Exhibition view - Lines which join, divide, meander and delineate

Cologne based artists Lars Kreyssig and Kim Collmer present an exhibition they see as a “visual conversation” derived from some of their latest work.
Both working with and on paper, the artists appear to take an opposite approach to a shared interest in creating form through repetition.
Many of Kreyssig's drawings depict rigid patterns and surfaces in a meticulous and extensive process, resulting in exacting and precise formal studies. In contrast Collmer’s work seems to fall apart, the marks she makes suggest the fragility of the forms they create, resulting in an openness in the work. Both artists studied and often use video and photography, though the work in this exhibition is purely analog.
